The ambiance of a perfect environment is not the only basic point to select a green house. When the perfect environment conditions play its part,the location of your house is also has its own importance,here it is not mentioning of any commercial hub but the availability of your daily needs are within the reasonable reach. When you drive around for your basic needs every day for a considerable distance and the proportionate consumption of fuel will cause concern. There is a simple yard stick to measure the criteria for a green house. Normally there are two types of houses. The first one will be a house whose location is with clear environment and the availability of all your daily needs are within the normal reach and the second one would be,there may be having all the satisfactory conditions for a perfect environment but far away from the point from where you can have your daily needs. The former one we can classify as the green home because of the simple reason that you are saving quite bit of fuel and energy for your daily needs. In most of the cases the perfect condition is a far cry,that is to have a good location and a good environment. The alternative to this is to make it near perfect by become self sufficient. Some of the simple requirement for self sufficiency is to have a well tended garden which can give enough food for a normal family and for energy requirements having some sort of indigenous methods. This may be harnessing of solar energy duly supported by water/wind mills within the compound itself. There will be a common meeting point if these two conditions are met. The green houses of this nature will be less dependent for their energy supply from their local grid which means more contribution towards a better environment. Now you have made a reaching point with reasonably good conditions but still not reach the perfect point,though there will be still rooms for the perfection. You are self sufficient for your many needs or that is easily available from within your reach and not instrumental in drawing less power from your local grid. Still you can add towards perfection by selective in getting energy saving appliances which are duly certified to that effect. This type of environmentally healthy design along with the use of certified energy content appliances,you will be contributing significantly for the energy saving. But for many,the initial investment is prohibitive,but this will pay off handsomely in the near future. A feeling can come in the mind about the initial cost. It may be prohibitive if you are thinking in a narrow way. The solution for this is to work out the long term benefits which will start accruing within a period not so long. We can not assume that by owning a green house our contribution towards the environment has stopped. We have to continue to strive on this. We can do this without much effort and expenses. While going for the cleaning materials,we have to just insist on the products which are bio degradable. With our simple persuasion try and raise the conscious of the like minded people to boycott the products which are likely to damage the environment. People will take example from you as the ideal person who has not sacrificed or compromised the comfort of living,at the same time as an environmental friendly person.
